The bird bust

The rearview mirror isn’t big enough to hold all of the red lights.

“Is your name Batt?”

“Yes, it is officer.  Is there a problem?  If so, I’d be willing to change my name.”

“Uh-huh.  My name is Monday.  Sergeant Monday.  I have a complaint that has been filed against you.”

“Listen, if it is about the air I pumped into the tire of my pickup at the gas station, I really thought it was free.  Might I add, you certainly are a handsome figure in your uniform. Blue really brings out the color of your eyes.”

“I do not respond favorably to sucking up, Mr. Batt.  I should tell you that anything you say can and will be held against you.”
