After our arrival at Gambell, we need to get all of our gear off of the plane and into a pile so it can be shuttled to our house. The arrival of each plane is an event at Gambell and the locals always turn out to see who is arriving. Sometimes, when there's a 'good' bird present, it's hard to take care of our equipment when all you want to do is to start birding.
