The lineup of scopes and birders all pointing at a common target are prime indicators that something rare has been spotted. This group is enjoying a Great Knot. It was only five minutes after taking this photo that I found the Siberian Stonechat! Forrest Gump had it partially right, "Life is like birding on Gambell. You never know what your gonna get!"
