19Red-neckedStint001

A regular breeder in western Alaska, and an expected migrant at Gambell, there is no mistaking the distinctive Red-necked Stint when they arrive in such fresh plumage. Although Red-necked Stint is the most expected stint on Gambell, 2006 was a banner year for us as we saw no fewer than four individuals. This was one of two birds present in the small pools at the south end of Troutman Lake.
