One of the many female Ruffs (or Reeve) present in 2006. In this view you can see the rather short, slightly decurved dark bill, smallish head, 'pot-bellied' body shape, pale edges to back feathers (many with black centers) giving a distinctive scaly appearance, variable amount of dark blotches on the breast and flanks and bright orange legs of a classic female Ruff.
