One of five Bramblings that we saw during our tour in 2006, this male spent the better part of his day searching for seeds in the thick grass along the base of the mountain near the far bone yard. You can see a large amount of pale edges on the back, face and breast feathers. Once these pale edges wear off, he'll have a jet black face and back and more brilliant orange breast. Even in this transitional phase, this is an exciting bird to find.
