Two views of the Common Sandpiper that we found just north of Nome. More unusual on the mainland vs. Gambell, we were really excited to find such a cooperative bird. Although these are distant photos, compared to Spotted Sandpiper you can easily see the clear underparts and the larger, more extensive white wing stripes that go nearly to the body.
